Dr. Veiga opened her practice in 1985 at the Waterbury Medical Center located at 1389 West Main Street, where she practices today. Over the years, Dr. Veiga has won numerous awards, received distinguished recognitions, and has been appointed to several board positions for causes and organizations close to her heart. A proud resident of Waterbury, Dr. Veiga has served on several boards for organizations with a large presence in her home city, including The Bank of Waterbury, WWCO Radio, and the Leavenworth Foundation. Her passion for music and the arts has also led her to serve on boards for the Waterbury Symphony Orchestra and the Waterbury Palace Theater. Dr. Veiga is also passionate about empowering younger generations to follow their own interests, and has served on the board for the Waterbury Chapter of Girls Inc., where she earned the honor of their 2003-2004 Woman of the Year. Dr. Veiga also keeps active in numerous dental organizations, previously serving as the CSDA Journal Editor, a Connecticut Journal which connects dentists around the state on their most recent achievements and employed techniques. Also being an alumnus of UConn, Dr. Veiga stays active in the University’s community, once serving as President of the UConn School of Dental Medicine Alumni Foundation, as well as teaching as an Associate Professor, and actively participating in the Dental School Mentoring Program, in which she allows students perusing dentistry to shadow her work. Having been trained in emergency dental treatment, Dr. Veiga has also served on staff at both Waterbury and St. Mary’s Hospitals, treating patients in need of immediate care.

Another cause which Dr. Veiga is avidly passionate about is serving those in need, not only locally, but internationally as well. Dr. Veiga actively participates in Mission of Mercy, a program dedicated to bringing dental care to the underserved in the local community. Internationally, Dr. Veiga has travelled on numerous Mission Trips to Belize, Honduras, and Nicaragua, providing critical dental care to the underprivileged in their local communities. Every February, Dr. Veiga also actively participates in the “Give Kids a Smile” campaign, an effort which is focused on providing dental care to underprivileged children in the community.

Dr. Veiga is also passionate about keeping active in dental organizations across Connecticut in order to keep up to date with today’s techniques and dental practices. Committed to providing her patients with the best care in a modern setting, Dr. Veiga is active with the American Dental Association (ADA), The Connecticut State Dental Association (CSDA), the Academy of Aesthetic Dentistry, the Academy of General Dentistry, Federation Denture Internationale (FDI), and the Dental Society of Greater Waterbury (DSQW). All these organizations are committing to supporting dentists bring the best standard of care to you!

Outside of the office, Dr. Veiga enjoys travelling around the world, spending time outdoors, swimming, and music. Dr. Veiga, however, is most proud of her two wonderful children, Adriana- a Registered Nurse and health coach, and Michael, a Senior Financial Associate in Manhattan.

Dr. Veiga would like to thank you personally for taking the time to read about a small portion of her life as your partner in dental health, and hopes that she will soon get to meet you as a part of her dental practice family!
